He and I sat down in front of a computer for the first time in history this morning and had the most detailed design conversation in history.

It was completely cool.

We started messing with some CSS to make the header as small as possible to see to-what-extent it could work.

Making the top header smaller is nice because it shows more thumbnails on-screen when you arrive, instead of pushing them down.

It's very-much a sketch (and the bottom part is entirely robbed from $starvingartist and $mccann's new browsepage design!)

But it's groovy.

I really like the current top bar being all the way to the right... but the search up the top may be a little too far up... and the logo and site name may be too small for newbies.

And where is the navigation?

I kinda currently see it as a application rather then a website.

But as a design, it's beautiful. I love the use of negative space, simplicity and the calm use of colours.

Not really digging the logo to be honest, but the general design is awesome! Great to see the current skin inspiring this idea. I'd love to see the Groups worked out in V7 though, makes things more managable for me aswell. :bucktooth:

you should make it to where there's a button on top to switch between versions 5, 6 and 7. maybe all of them.
